Billboard and Outdoor Advertising

The best in environmental, outdoor and billboard advertising.

Fruitful 3D Outdoor Ad

To advertise their strawberry and banana fruit smoothie, Dunkin’ Donuts commissioned Kurt Wenner, a master artist and architect, to do the street art for the fruity drink’s introduction into the market. The 3D floor ad looks as if it is emerging from the ground, making a dynamic and delicious impact.

I love ads that are creatively bizarre and fanciful like this one. Great combination of street art, guerilla marketing, and outdoor advertising!!

Fierce Billboard!

All I have to say is WOW! Those are some super strong teeth ripping the billboard from its hedges. This is a really cool and innovative billboard done by Ogilvy & Mather (Indonesia location) for Formula Tooth care—quite the visual.

Smelly Billboard

I can’t look at this billboard for Clorets gum for an extended period of time because the visual immediately triggers my olfactory senses; I can only imagine the FOUL odor of this person’s breath.

If ever you have a hard time telling someone that they need a heavy duty breath freshening gum to freshen their breath then show them this ad. That person just might never talk to you again but you will surely get your point across!

Bubble Gum Trees: Clever Billboard

This is a really bright, funny, and unique approach to billboard advertising. By using the surrounding area as part of this outdoor billboard, the ad becomes more eye-catching and dynamic, hence creating a great larger-than-life experience for observers.

Bonne Idée!

Billboards are ubiquitous so rarely do they catch my attention but this one was too cute to pass up because of the baby’s “Party at my crib!” announcement.

Bon Bèbè specializes in baby layettes and other baby-related essentials. They definitely exuded their expertise with this adorable yet clever and effective ad.

Unique Highway Billboard

Definitely can’t miss this billboard when driving down the highway! This gigantic Adidas ad, which was located near Munich Airport, shows former German goalkeeper, Oliver Kahn, diving across the WHOLE 4-lane highway. The Adidas ad definitely made a colossal impression amongst spectators.

The Hugest Shopping Bags Known to Me

Talk about international guerilla billboards! These gigantic shopping bags are located on Martin Place, which is in the heart of Sydney, Australia’s commercial district. These bold, brilliant, distinctive bags are a clear indication that this area will appease any fashionista. I especially like the exasperated or sexy (no idea, which one it’s supposed to be) expression of the drag queen replica of the iconic Marilyn Monroe, but I guess I have weird taste.

These billboards definitely grabbed my attention while walking through Sydney.

Funny Billboard: Lobster Mania

On a recent trip to Australia, I photographed this hilarious billboard for Georges Mediterranean Bar & Grill, located on The Promenade at King Street Wharf. They were advertising their special lunch deal, “Georges Lobster Fridays.” Great attention-grabber!

Awesome Billboard Grunge

This is a great Toyota billboard created by Badillo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The edgy and grungy nuance of the ad really captures the attention. The fact that it is displayed on a three-story garage might help too. Sometimes, billboard size can be visually captivating when done creatively.

Interactive YouTube Billboard

When you hear the words “innovation,” and “creativity,” which companies come to mind? For me, it’s definitely Google, and this awesome YouTube billboard is just another example of their think-outside-the-box strategies. Instead of posting a static billboard to advertise YouTube, Google decided to create something that was as interactive as the streaming-video web site itself. They posted up several of these billboards, which are essentially empty frames made to look like the YouTube media player screen. At the top of the screen in the content search box, there are terms which are related to whatever scene the billboard focuses on. For example, at one billboard set up at an intersection, the search box reads “people crossing the street.” Anyone who looks at the billboard has the impression they are watching a YouTube video. Talk about awesomely creative!
