Billboard and Outdoor Advertising

The best in environmental, outdoor and billboard advertising.

Less is more

I haven’t always agreed that less is more. In this economy and environment, however, I realize that greed is not good. For example, I drink out of my promotional mug instead of buying bottled water and canned soda. Sometimes little changes in lifestyle can make Mother Nature a happy woman.

Denver Water, the company that supplies H2O to 1.1 million metro Denver residents, took the “less is more” mantra to the next level. Their billboard message is simple and conveys the point. In this eco-friendly promotion, they literally mean what they say. Not only are they promoting the message to conserve water, but they physically used less labor and materials to construct it. Here’s hoping the Denver Nuggets beat the L.A. Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

adidas Billboard Comes to Life

Digital billboards are always fun to watch, but what about a billboard that comes to life? Check out this ginormous adidas billboard, which has two people suspended on cables playing vertical soccer across the board. What a great way to create brand awareness in addition to all of the soccer promotional products one can include in a marketing campaign.

Dropped calls are a smash hit

This Cingular billboard placed in Times Square certainly garnered a lot of attention for dropping “calls”. Who would have thought that dropping calls would be so popular? Good thing those tourists had their cameras handy to document the scene.

A bank robber’s dream?

This clever ad reminds of that commercial where the guy has his social security number displayed on a moving bus in New York City. The same concept is applied here: we’re so confident in our product (3M Security Glass), we’re willing to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that it really works. I also like that their logo sticker is displayed clearly, but not prominently. I’d also like to see a guy whack it a few times with a baseball bat Now, I wouldn’t deposit my savings account into a see-through street ad, but I get their point. This is a very sleek and unique ad.

Tibits’ Oversized Fork

Tibits is a large vegerarian restaurant chain in Switzerland, and to promote the freshness of its food, it fixed oversized forks to trees in major parks and outdoor shopping areas throughout Switzerland. I’ve seen promotional kitchen products and promotional plants before, but this is ridiculous.

Tibits makes a “fresh” statement with its ad, but more practical promotional kitchen utensils could also be used to remind people of Tibits every time they sit down for a meal.

Huge Crossword Puzzle on Building

Forget the promotional pens, personalized pencils, and traditional crossword puzzles. This is the greatest crossword puzzle I’ve ever seen. Who wouldn’t be tempted to grab a paintbrush and fill this in? –via EnglishRussia
